September 10th 2016 at Letchworth Hall Hotel was again the venue for our Ladies Night, and what a great night it was. 82 members, their families and guests enjoyed great company, excellent food and fantastic music from Innervision a five piece band who had traveled all the way from Salisbury.
In many respects it was a sad time for the Lodge as its President W Bro Andy Hunt passed away in March this year. However not to be too subdued Andy’s good Lady Ann decided that we would have a Ladies Festival and supported by her son W Bro Dean Hankins and her stepson Bro Graeme Hunt a great time was had by all.
As is the custom Ann was presented with a gift as a memento of the evening, however she was not expecting to be presented with Andys Past Masters Jewel which had been engraved and mounted on a plaque. In presenting this to Ann, W Bro Malcolm Desborough commented that there exists a tradition in the Lodge that a Past Masters Jewel is passed from father to son should he follow in his fathers footsteps by becoming master of the Lodge, and felt that Andy would have been extremely proud to siupport this tradition.
The evening supported three charities, The Primrose Trust Oncology Unit at Bedford Hospital, Road Victim Trust and Prostrate Cancer UK and £800 was raised.
Thanks to all who participated in the arrangements of this wonderful evening.
